Regenagri is a certification framework dedicated to promoting regenerative agricultural practices that restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, and improve climate resilience. Through a structured set of criteria and a strategic Theory of Change, Regenagri provides farmers, agribusinesses, and cooperatives with a pathway to sustainable farming. The standard focuses on soil conservation, responsible labor policies, and supply chain transparency while integrating cutting-edge environmental monitoring and certification methodologies.

Key Findings

Regenagri’s updated Standard Criteria v3.3 outlines essential practices to support regenerative farming, including cover cropping, conservation tillage, natural fertilization, and biodiversity protection. By incorporating rotational grazing, agroforestry, and precision irrigation, the framework ensures that agricultural activities contribute to climate mitigation. Additionally, farms must adhere to strict labor, health, and safety regulations, emphasizing fair wages, ethical employment, and social responsibility within agricultural communities.

The Theory of Change highlights Regenagri’s vision of transforming global agriculture through knowledge-sharing, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. It seeks to bring 2 million hectares and 200,000 farms under certification by 2025, while achieving a 50% reduction in carbon emissions from certified farming activities. The strategy is built on a foundation of continuous learning, leveraging partnerships with scientists, technology providers, and certification bodies to promote scalable solutions.

Regenagri’s approach extends beyond farm-level improvements by integrating supply chain traceability and market access strategies. Certified farms undergo independent audits and must implement digital monitoring tools to track carbon sequestration, water efficiency, and ecosystem restoration efforts. This holistic approach not only benefits the environment but also provides economic incentives for farmers, ensuring their long-term viability in the global market.

Regenagri is paving the way for a large-scale transition to regenerative agriculture by setting robust standards, fostering industry collaboration, and ensuring measurable environmental and economic impact. The program’s ambitious targets and rigorous certification processes position it as a leading force in sustainable land management. However, achieving widespread adoption requires continued investment in farmer education, infrastructure, and policy support.
